HP Battery pavilion 6000 usual Problem
Hp Pavilion DV6000 series seems occered in a lot of problem. Some body says, The Pavillon HP laptops battery problems are truly the pits and may be enough for people to stop buying HP laptops! But I have to say that it’s not inherently HP’s responsibility, some problem of HP Pavilion DV6000 battery may cause by us and could be fixed by some simple operation.
HP Pavilion DV6000 Battery Problem Case
- When the Hp DV6000 battery powered, the screen flickers and finally crushes out.
- No matter when I use my battery to supply power for the laptop, the screen will suddenly flicker then die out when I using it. But the computer is still running and the screen still seems opened. Besides there nothing displayed on the screen (once I could watch movies and still hear sounds).
- This happens only when using dv6000 battery for power supply, and it is not the case when using AC power supply.
- I’ve got an HP dv6000 that will not charge the battery. I took the unit apart and replaced the power jack/usb board, thinking this would solve my problem…it didn’t. I am still having the same problem.
- I am able to charge the dv6000 battery in a friends hp and the laptop works great until I need to charge again.

Basically, power down the laptop and then remove the AC adapter plug. Remove the dv2000 battery, perhaps wait a minute. Then put the battery back in and then plug in the AC adaptor plug. You then should see the charger light come on showing the battery is charging. Perhaps wait a few minutes before powering on the laptop to confirm that the battery is indeed charging. The problem seems to be in the logic (not sure where, if it is the software driver, etc.) when the laptop is on, it doesn’t get a charge. But with the laptop off, plugging in a battery after it has been removed - it works with a simpler charger system that doesn’t use the computers’s main CPU.
The problem is i shut it down fully charged. the next morning i star it up and it look ike it has been running as the pavilion dv6000 battery is down to almost half, i want to go away for a month and want to take it with me but cannot work on a half battery always. i enstalled the vista battery gadgets thingy, will that have an effect. when i shut it down it looks like there is some thing on still as a blue light stay blinking for a long time.
My laptop DV6500t turned itself on automatically after I shut it down. This caused the hp dv2000 battery to drain all the time. I sent it in for repair, but HP couldn’t reproduce the failure and just sent it back to me.
I have problem with my laptop, its 1y old, I bought it from a friend, and until now I didnt notice anything bad, because it was always plugged into power. Now what happens is , when i turn it on, w/o being connected to power, it boots up and when it reached windows screen, dv6000 battery goes to 0%. I’ve also noticed that when batt. is cca. at 65% (battery indicator), and not connected to power, its like when is at 0%, nb goes to sleep-mode , but when I try to ressurect it, it wont boot up. I have to plug it and then turn on. To my surprise battery is then indicated again at 0%.
Solution for HP Pavilion DV6000 Battery Not Charge
- Reinstalling the power management software has just fixed it for me. Go to device manager and under hp dv2000 batteries , unistall the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery. Go to Actions on the menu bar and select ’scan for hardware changes’. It will reinstall it and hopefully start charging immediately (mine did anyway).
- If your HP Pavillion dv6000 has a hp dv6000 battery that won’t charge yet still turns on when plugged in, turn off the laptop and remove the battery then wait for around 30 seconds, re-insert it and turn it back on, the charging update should say, plugged in, charging.
- I made the bios update, and works for me. My laptop battery problems were fixed. The battery led always blinking every time and the battery didn’t charge. Now it’s ok !
- If it is still under warranty you can chat with an online hp tech who will check it out over the internet and send you a replacement for free. the dv 6000 laptops have a recall on a few problems and there is a bios update to fix it before it happens but will not correct it after the fact the recall on specific problems extends the warranty to 24 months should get you to the warranty page.
- Just got it to charge again.While the laptop is powered and in Windows XP, press and hold the POWER button until it dies. Then, remove the dv6000 laptop battery. Power it back up and enter Windows. Then, re-insert the hp laptop battery.
So I always remove the Hp pavilion dv2000 battery after I have powered down the laptop, and I have not had any battery problems since then! I had the same issue my fix was a new cmos battery that was only $10.00 and install updated bios software from HP.I had the dv6000 battery problem where it showed my battery NOT CHARGING. I took it apart because my QUICKPLAY would not work either and the QUICKPLAY lights stayed on even after I shut down the laptop. I found that the black ribbon cable on the right (the other looks the same but you can see it is for the power button) was slightly kiltered in the flat socket it goes to underneath the area where the quickplay button is. I straightened it out and made sure it was pushed all the way in and locked and put it all back together and everything worked perfectly after that. About a month before that my POWER and SOUND didn`t work. I did the same thing to fix those problems. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THOSE CABLES EXACTLY RIGHT in there, IT MAY JUST BE YOUR PROBLEM TOO.
Some people dont realise that you should avoid short charges and discharges, if your batery does not go above 40% mabe its charge memory thinks its full. to fix this problem let the batery run fully down, then charge it all the way again. try it a few times if it doesnt work. and you have to go all the way, not let windows go into hibernation. to do that you need to get the laptop battery low, then boot to some boot disk and let it sit till the batery dies.
HP has posted BIOS updates to address hp laptop battery problems as well as the auto startup on some.If you will post the full model number,someone can help you find your driver/updates page.
Sony says battery burn-out probe should have been quicker
Sony has admitted it could have moved "more quickly" to tackle the burning battery bug that hit two of the company's biggest power-pack customers, Dell and Apple, and prompted many others to recall Sony-made lithium-ion batteries-- sony vgp-bps2c , vgp-bps2b ,vgp-bpl2c , vgp-bps2a .
In an interview with Japanese-language newspaper the Mainchi Shimbun, relayed by Agence France-Presse, Sony President Ryoji Chubachi is quoted as saying: "The company should have investigated the cause of the battery problem more quickly."
Chubachi also hinted that the sony battery issue may have arisen from Sony's rush to deliver higher-capacity notebook power packs. "We had troubles as we tried to meet the demands for larger battery capacity," he confessed, the paper said.
In October, Sony set aside ￥51.2bn ($444m/£224m/€334m) to cover a worldwide recall of almost 10m lithium-ion laptop batteries . Following a spate of exploding laptop incidents, Dell announced its own battery recall this summer, and was quickly followed by Apple and Lenovo.
They pointed the finger at Sony-made batteries as the cause of the combustion, and in September Sony's battery division said it would support these and other laptop vendors who chose to instigate recalls.Sony vgp-bps2c, Gateway, Fujitsu, Sharp, Hitachi, Toshiba and Sony's own Vaio division subsequently asked some of their customers to return Sony-made batteries.
Sony to release e-book Reader
Electronic books are often mentioned in the same breath as Amazon.com Inc.'s Kindle digital reader. Now e-book rival Sony Corp. (SNE-N28.550.250.88%) is determined to recapture consumers' attention with a smaller reader that's also $100 (U.S.) cheaper.
On Wednesday, Sony is expected to announce that it will release the Reader Pocket Edition by the end of August. Like the Kindle and Sony's previous Readers, the Pocket Edition will come with an “electronic ink” display--sony battery , which shows dark grey text on a lighter grey background. As the word “pocket” implies, its five-inch screen will be smaller than that on the Kindle and other Sony models.
Steve Haber, president of Sony's Digital Reading Business Division, expects the Pocket Edition's price tag will lure new consumers who haven't wanted to shell out for such a device thus far.
And he's not worried that the Pocket Edition's chances for success will be diminished by the rising popularity of reading e-books on smart phones like the iPhone and BlackBerrys.So It will usher in a good market,just like sony laptop battery .
“Once you see it, it's been a consistent response of, ‘That's cool,”' he said.
Sarah Rotman Epps, a media analyst at Forrester Research, said the Pocket Edition's price below $200 breaks an important psychological barrier.
“This is something that is affordable for the holiday season, and I think that you'll see sales of e-readers outpacing current forecasts,” she said.
Her current forecast calls for sales of 2 million digital reading devices this year; she said a little more than 1 million were sold by the end of 2008.
She doesn't expect Amazon to rest on its laurels, adding that the online retailer will have to respond to counter Sony's new price point.
Sony is also announcing on Wednesday the release of a $299 touch-screen model to replace its existing $350 touch-screen PRS-700 . The Touch Edition will have the same six-inch (15-centimetre) screen as its predecessor but not the PRS-700's built-in light. Haber said removing the light will correct some screen clarity problems it has caused.
With the PRS-700, users can highlight text and take notes with a touch-screen keyboard. On the new model, users also can write notes with a finger or a stylus that is included.
The new model has a built-in dictionary and is faster at changing pages when readers swipe a finger across the screen. It will sell in red, silver or black and can hold 350 books in its built-in memory or more on a memory card.
A big difference between Sony's Readers and Amazon's Kindle has always been the lack of wireless access for quick and simple downloads of books. The new models are no different: They have to be connected to a computer to acquire books.
For the first time, they will be compatible with PCs and Mac computers , though. Sony will offer current Reader owners a software update to make theirs compatible with both.The same quality as sony vgp-bps2c
As he has indicated in the past, Haber said Sony is working on a wireless model, though he wouldn't say when.
Sony also is adjusting prices to some of the e-books it sells through its online eBook Store. New releases and best-sellers will now sell for $10, $2 less than current prices. Amazon's Kindle Store offers most best-sellers and new releases for $10.
Sony's eBook Store includes more than 100,000 books, as well as a million free public-domain books available from Google Inc. through its Google Books project. The Kindle Store currently has more than 330,000 available titles.

Dell Inspiron B130 and B120 Review (pics, specs)
Introduction
The Dell Inspiron B130 is a 15.4" widescreen notebook, depending on how you configure it the B130 can be considered a budget offering or a mainstream type notebook with decent performance. The Inspiron B120 offered by Dell is precisely the same as the B130 except with a 14-inch widescreen.And inspiron b120 battery have the same code as inspiron b130 battery. The B120 build and dimensions match that of the B130, only the B120 has a thicker plastic area around the screen to replace the display real estate. The following is a review of the Inspiron B130 but the evaluation can be carried over and applied to the B120 as well.

Design and Build
This is a budget notebook and as such is constructed in a manner to keep costs down. The body casing is entirely plastic, no fancy aluminum or magnesium protection. The plastic used is not flimsy though, it's actually really quite sturdy. I used the Dell Inspiron 1000 a while back and was highly disappointed with the flimsiness of the casing, the B130 is certainly a step up from that,but it have a powerful dell inspiron b130 battery . There's no major flexing issues of the body and the keyboard is firm.
The hinges are firm, there's no wobble of the screen even if you move the notebook around. This is impressive, often with budget notebooks the hinges can be somewhat weak. The protection provided by the lid is also good, if you push in on the lid area it's hard to get ripples to appear on the screen. However, the plastic area around the screen is not held on very well and on the B120 (14-inch screen version of the B130) it is very thick and ugly looking. I can pull the plastic covering away from the LCD with ease.
The look of the Inspiron B130 is a mix of silver and black. The lid is an entirely silver-grey color while the rest of the body is black with an accent of silver trim around the keyboard. The look is not bad in this author's opinion, and actually better than the some off the exisiting Dell Inspirons available with the silver and white finish. It's certainly not sleek or pretty by any stretch, it looks like the plastic it is built from, the front speakers are ugly holes in plastic that look more like vents, and the largish green LED light indicators on the front are reminiscent of a 1980's mainframe computer. So no design awards but due to the well selected and professional black-silver coloring it's not ugly either.
Screen
The Inspiron B130 is a widescreen notebook that uses a WXGA resolution (1280 x 800). The screen is a matte finish and there is no option for the popular glossy high-contrast display finish that Dell calls "TrueLife". The screen brightness is middling, it's certainly not as bright and glorious as the Dell Inspiron 700m or the Dell XPS M140 I've reviewed in the past.Inspiron 700m battery , When on AC power the screen is bright enouggh, but when you switch to battery it becomes too dim -- you can adjust your display and power settings to force the screen to be brighter when on battery but at the cost of shorter battery life. Overall, the text and images are sharp and the matte screen means you won't get a bunch of reflection on the screen that can become distracting.
There's some light leakage around the bottom area and lighting is not even across the screen, but this is only noticeable on dark backgrounds such as the default Windows XP screensaver in which the screen is all black and the Windows logo can be seen floating across it. Also, it seems that some colors are not true -- reds tend to appear a bit orange like so it's probably not the best display for those really into photo editing.
Processor and Performance
You can opt to have your Inspiron B130/B120 configured with either a Pentium M or Celeron M processor. You'll save money with the Celeron M configuration and to be honest, I think that's the best route to go with this notebook. It's a budget machine and when you have the Intel 910GML chipset and motherboard (as the dell B130 battery / B120 battery does) you're going to be limited to a bus speed of 400MHz between the processor and memory. Even though my system indicated a 533MHz FSB on the Pentium M 740 processor I configured and the memory I have can theoretically run at 533MHz, it does not, it runs at 400MHz. So esentially Dell put together a machine in which the chipset is the weakest link, and since components work together as a team, the system can only be as fast as that weakest link is willing to work (400MHz).
